EAST ALABAMA CHAPTER OFPRCA HOSTS SUCCESSFUL ANNUAL CONFERENCE

AUBURN, AL – The East Alabama chapter of the Public Relations Council of Alabama (PRCA) recently hosted the council’s annual statewide conference of public relations practitioners in Auburn at The Hotel at Auburn University and the Auburn Alumni Center.

The event featured a power-packed agenda of nationally known, experienced speakers and experts in their fields. Uber-relevant topics included harnessing the power of individuals and teams for success, leadership and crisis management with the power of both/and thinking, and how to parlay pissed off into powerful communication.

After a day filled with informational speakers, the group gathered at the Auburn Alumni Center for the Medallion Awards Gala. The awards program recognizes the best work of the state’s PRCA members with Awards of Merit, Awards of Excellence, and the Medallion Award, the highest noncompetitive award given.

Sharon Heflin Chapter of the Year Competition
The local chapter won First Place in the Philanthropy/Community Service division for their work on the event, The Great Grown Up Spelling Bee.

‘I’m so excited that we not only put on a phenomenal conference but so many of our local members were honored and recognized for their hard work at the awards gala,” said Pam Powers-Smith, PRCA-EA President. “I’m extremely proud of both.”

The Public Relations Council of Alabama is the state’s longest operating and largest group of public relations practitioners. The organization exists to further the professional and networking interests of today’s public relations and communication professionals in private, public and nonprofit businesses. The East Alabama Chapter of PRCA is one of six chapters in Alabama that offers career development opportunities, mentors college students and works to improve the professionalism of public relations practice through its accreditation program.
